The RISE program continues to pursue innovative ways to enhance student success through experiential learning. One of our pivotal goals includes ensuring transformative experiences for our RISE students. In order to afford such outcomes, we believe in creating useful resources for our faculty and staff, who instruct RISE courses or direct RISE experiences. The units that support RISE (Center for Teaching and Learning, Center for Research and Learning, Study Abroad, Center for Service and Learning), along with the Division of Undergraduate Education and University College, created taxonomies to guide the instruction of high-impact courses.

High-Impact Practice to Guide

We support and envision these taxonomies as a valuable resource for instructors; they have the potential to assist in improving course design and sustaining the quality of HIP experiences offered. Instructors will also have the opportunity to use these to document course revision and enhancement where appropriate (e.g., instructors can see where they are and envision opportunities for growth).
